DARK FRIDAYS is a new play reading series created to support professional theatre productions at Stella Adler Academy-Los Angeles. The readings take place when a performance space is ‘Dark’ on a Friday night and will help focus our play selection for future Stella Adler LAB Theatre productions. We want to spark a dialogue amongst our diverse alumni actors and directors, and build a bright space to showcase the work being developed at The Stella Adler Academy of Acting and Theatre. ‘Dark Fridays’ is also about community. It is an opportunity to examine plays we are passionate about in a rich social setting, a time to blot out the darkness of a quiet stage, like Prometheus unbound, and together bring our great tradition of storytelling into a modern world so lacking in sufficient light.

This is an open call to any and all Stella Adler alumni! Whether you’ve been gone for a month or a decade, we want to see you back home working under these lights again. If you are an alumni in the greater Los Angeles area and want to participate, please send us your headshot, resume, and availability to:

We look forward to blazing this path with you!
